Whitby College pupil hit in car accident

Community College pupil aged 16 was taken to hospital after being hit by a car close to the College entrance on the A171.
The accident happened just before 9:00am this morning and involved the teenage pedestrian and a Volvo car being driven by a pregnant woman.
The pupil was taken to Hospital in Scarborough by road ambulance with an arm injury. The ambulance crew also checked out the driver of the car, but appeared to be fine.
The road was not closed, however there was a lot of rubber neckers as both police and ambulance attended the scene.
